Position Overview:
As Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in steering the company’s financial direction as we integrate four recently acquired entities and position the organization for a significant upcoming investment. The CFO will be a vital member of the executive leadership team, responsible for implementing and overseeing integration processes, driving financial strategy, managing investment relationships, and optimizing financial operations to support growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment readiness, and financial transformation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives and growth plans.
- Collaborate with the executive team to drive financial performance, ensuring sustainable profitability and growth.
- Provide insights and recommendations on strategic business decisions, investment opportunities, and risk management.
2. Integration of Acquired Companies
- Lead the financial integration of four newly acquired companies, ensuring a cohesive and streamlined approach to operations, finance, and compliance.
- Design and execute integration roadmaps, aligning financial reporting, accounting practices, and operational processes across entities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate systems, technologies, and policies that support unified company-wide financial practices.
3. Investment Readiness and Financial Planning
- Prepare the company for a large-scale investment by ensuring robust financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Develop a compelling financial narrative for prospective investors, supported by clear metrics, financial models, and projections.
- Establish relationships with investment stakeholders, driving due diligence, negotiations, and financial reporting processes related to the investment.
4. Financial Operations and Governance
- Oversee and refine core financial functions, including accounting, auditing, financial reporting, treasury, and tax management.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting that meets regulatory standards and investor expectations.
- Lead initiatives to optimize cash flow, working capital, and cost structures, aligning operational efficiencies with the company’s strategic goals.
5. Team Development and Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify skill gaps and implement training and development programs to ensure the finance team is equipped for both operational and strategic roles.
- Act as a mentor and coach, ensuring the finance team is aligned with the company’s mission and prepared to meet the evolving needs of a growing organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA) or CPA designation is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within the biotech, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
- Proven track record of integrating multiple entities and leading post-merger integration efforts.
- Experience preparing organizations for significant investment, including experience with due diligence and investor relations.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, financial analysis, and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or others).
