Commercial Lead (First Hire – EU Leadership Team)
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and dynamic Commercial Lead to be the first hire in our commercial team. This critical role offers the unique opportunity to build the commercial function from the ground up, driving revenue growth while directly contributing to the company’s strategic direction. Reporting to the COO, this position is part of the EU Leadership Team and involves close collaboration with the CEO, founders, and Head of Product to align commercial efforts with product priorities.
You will start as a hands-on builder, covering marketing, sales, customer acquisition materials, contracts, and more, while laying the foundation for a scalable commercial team. As revenue grows, you’ll recruit, mentor, and lead a team, ensuring alignment with company goals and market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute a scalable commercial strategy tailored to service fee & the pay-per-use model and market dynamics across the EU.
- Act as a key contributor to the EU Leadership Team, helping shape overall business strategy.
- Set aggressive growth targets, KPIs, and a commercial roadmap aligned with the product development roadmap.
Hands-On Commercial Execution
- Develop sales materials, draft contracts, and create marketing campaigns to attract and retain customers.
- Engage directly with potential clients to secure new business and validate market opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Head of Product to align commercial opportunities with the product roadmap, ensuring prioritization of high-impact features.
Market Expansion
- Drive market entry and growth by identifying and securing partnerships with
1st Priority: Focus on the medical market, identifying and securing partnerships with key stakeholders such as healthcare providers, clinics, and related organizations.
2nd Priority: Explore opportunities with insurers, e-commerce platforms, retailers, and other B2B stakeholders to expand into adjacent markets and diversify revenue streams. - Navigate EU regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and long-term viability.
- Establish and refine distribution channels across diverse markets.
Team Building & Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing commercial team to scale revenue in line with business growth.
- Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture focused on achieving ambitious targets.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and development opportunities for team members.
Client Relationships
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners, tailoring solutions to client needs to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, addressing challenges and identifying growth opportunities.
Data-Driven Sales Operations
- Leverage insights and analytics to optimize sales processes, improve conversion rates, and enhance customer acquisition strategies.
- Oversee pricing strategies, ensuring competitiveness across markets.
- Ensure seamless collaboration between marketing, product, compliance and customer support to deliver an exceptional customer journey.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- 8+ years of experience in sales leadership, with a track record of scaling revenue in EU markets.
- Proven entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on experience in business-building.
- Background in SaaS, medical devices, or healthcare-related industries preferred.
- Strong sales acumen with excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Experience with subscription or pay-per-use business models is advantageous.
Knowledge & Language
- Deep understanding of the European healthcare market and regional compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional EU languages are a strong plus.
